Can frogspawn be next to each other?

Can't Stop Time
I have three frogspawn and they are spaced about 8" from one another with nothing else being near them. The tank is quickly running out of room, especially as they grow. Could I put them closer together? Or could I put anything near them, maybe a ricordia/leather/acro/candy cane?

it is my understanding you can put more than one Euphyllia around each other without them stinging each other but corals not from that genus will either sting or get stung by these corals. I am sure someone else will chime in about this. Ben

Two frogspawns should be fine next to each other. My LFS has a 265 that is pretty much frogspawn dominated. Would probably be better if they were from the same mother colony, but they should be fine anyway.

I have my 2 frogspawns (one pink and one green) within 1 - 2 inches of each other with no problem.

i have a bundle of 4 different FS all touching and they are fine and always have been. theres even a hammer lumped in with them thats doing fine.

it will be fine if 2 types of the same coral touch its when they are not the same you have a problem lol

Awesome responses guys. I will place them closer together. The thing that was killing me is the 6 inches 360 degrees around them. It just ate the space in the tank. Has anyone had any luck placing them next to leathers or mushrooms? If I could cram some of the space hogs together it would make room for more corals.

those 2 are specifically horrible for when it comes to space. leathers are the most infamous nuclear bombers there are out there. mushrooms will likely show you the skeleton of any coral you put close enough for it to touch.
id suggest fragging away and trading some of the mushrooms and then keeping all the mushrooms that remain close together.
same with the leathers.

Hammer and frogspawn are both euphyllias, which will touch each other with no problems. I have just moved my own frogspawn near my hammer, and both seem happy.

I am wondering about bubble: I'm suspecting it's something other than euphyllia, and I'm not getting it close to either of the above without firm word what it is.

I had my green based frogspawn and brown based frogspawn really close before. They stung each other.

At first I didnt know. I started noticing these dark green things floating in the tank. After a while I realized they were the burnt off tentacles of one of the frogspawns :S

You can do the trial & error thing to see if yours will be ok or not.

All Euphyllia can be placed near one another I placed a branching hammer and frogspawn together when they were small frags and they have grown together intertwining a few of the branches it created a wall of hammer and frogspawn that fills one whole side of my tank from the top to the bottom.

Atinic picture taken just now to show proximity:

As you can see my two are practically growing into each other with no problems.....a cool thing about frogspawns IMO :)

Fishdoc11, great photo. Good to know that people have successfully kept frogspawns so close together.

Fishdocs' pic is way better(camera phone:rolleyes: ) , but, heres mine two different morphs of the same specie growing into eachother.
