can i keep a carpet under a solaris?

its for my 79 gallon elos..i was thinking when my tank matures i wanna get a red carpet or a blue one ..i see one that they sell at reefhotspot..its a nice red one..thanks for the reply

yes you can, i know someone who has a carpet, has had for at least 7 yrs i think, most of that time it has been under MH but about a year ago maybe she moved it under LED's, has been doing great, says color has even improved at bit

What type of carpet are you thinking about? There is different care requirements between a Haddoni and a gigantea

thanks for asking..probably gig because haddoni is harder to keep right?

I personally have only kept Haddonis, and besides finding a healthy one ( which is key to any anemone ) I have found them pretty easy to keep --- my oldest is 9+ years old, and I have made plenty of mistakes over those years.

meaning you have more than one..cool..i hope you can sell me one by then :D ..if i beg hard enough :D

I have 3 of them. And beg all you want, not going to happen. :p

Couldn't get rid of my "old" one, since I have had it so long, and my blue one....never. :) The green one, took me too long to find a healthy one.

I would say that that gigantea are much, much harder to find healthy than haddoni. In fact, right now I know of more than one LFS in my are that have super nice haddonis. In the past year I have only seen one super nice gigantea in an LFS.... it resides in my tank..... :D I live in L.A. too, ton of high quality fish stores here....including reefhotspot....

+1, both of the stores near me have healthy haddoni's right now. The rare occasion that a gigantea comes in it always dies within a few weeks, without fail.
