well my blue tang decided the other day he likes the taste of my two croceas.... needless to say they dont like that at all

so anyways i put them in my sump next to my chaeto holding area and there i run a 150W 6500k screw in PC bulb with reflector for 14 hours a day

the clams are pretty much in direct light of this bulb and have seemed to be happy so far

the light is about 8" off of them

should this be sufficient to keep them happy until i find a home for my blue hippo??

thanks

i know but it was easier at the time to grab the clams lol

ill try to reverse it and throw the hippo in the sump but he may be harder to catch than the clams

i started a thread to get rid of him but no takers yet

so would that light be sufficient enough for now over the clams

im guna try to get the hippo out soon

just keep an eye on the clams... make sure they still open fully when the light is on... if they do they will be fine...

yeah they are fully opened they are happier than having the hippo takin bites outa there mantle

i just didnt know if this light would be sufficient for them being they went from MH to flourescent but its a strong light right over them and they look content

supplement the clams with phytoplankton since they many not be getting enough food from the insufficuent, I used to feed mine by putting them in a bucket with about a gallon or two of water and add phyto. within minutes the water in the bucket was clear and the clams were fed.

Your sump is a bad place for those clams. They'd be better off in my display tank. :D

They should be fine until you can catch the tang. Once you catch him, then swap places. I'd take the tang but I already have one.

I don't know how well 2 would get along in a 190 as that's where everything is right now until I get the 400 moved. That and I'm going for smaller fish now, got plenty of big boys in there already. ;)

alright thanks for the info ill get it figured out....

hey ray if u want the tang u can have him hes only like 4" so hes not big and he hasnt been a problem before just until recently he liked clams blue ones but he doesnt bother my squamosa at all

My Hippo is about 5 inches right now. Let me see if the wife wants another one. I'll let you know.

I'm trying to pair up all of my fish in the tank. Kind of a Noa's ark I guess. So far I've got the pair of Naso's and Wantanabie's and a Harem of royal Grammas.

If I can get my other Gold Stripped Marron clown out of the little tank, he'll go in with the one in the big tank. Then I need a Male Bellus Angel. and a couple of mandrins to pair them up.

Ok Justin, if you can catch him, I'll take him. But we'd have to do the exchange by Saturday as I'm headed out of town on Sunday and won't be back till the following week.

I've got a few corals for him if your interested. Let me know.

hey ive gotta work all weekend :(

but the clams seem to be fine in the sump for now so i can hold onto him until u get back and then bring it over....

what do u have as far as corals do u happen to have that orange monti cap anymore i wanna try a piece

thanks ray let me know either way

Are you worried they will get a plaid-patterned sunburn? Just kidding. I'm sure it won't matter. In nature, they are likely to be have coral shadow patterns anyhow. It comes down to whether they will get more lighting and flow going back in the display than they would in your sump.

true well theyve been there for a few days now and look fine the sump has about 900gph going through it and they seem fine for now i gota get sumone to take this hippo though

sounds good ray just pm me when u get home or ill try to get in touch with u
