Can I make $2000 in my refugium?

Very cool, softie prices are tough.
I see where you are coming from on the price but that is alot for mushrooms.... then again they are pretty.
I think the majority of softy buyers are looking to spend less on a "starter pack"
Something to think about anyhow....

Thanks for keeping up on this thread over all these years. What an aset to the community!

I finally took some time to check out this thread. Machado is clearly a dedicated aquarist, and all I can say is "WOW". He sure has a ton of beautiful frags. I only hope he doesn't start selling, 'cuz the last thing I need is more competition :p Seriously though thanks for the post, I will follow Machado's thread with interest.

Actually you must have read my mind because that's what I'm working on right now. Last September when I redid my display tank I intended to focus on a dozen or so corals, but I just couldn't bring myself to part with so many great colonies, but just last week I cleaned out both my display tank and my frag tank and brought several boxes of corals to my buddy Jason at Greenwich Aquaria. Needless to say I don't have to pay for food or salt for a little while.

Now I'm narrowing down my focus even more and working on growing out a few nice large colonies in my basement. So far I have the Purple Humilis, Pink Pocillipora, Oregon Tort, the Purple Millipora, the Tyree Purple Monster, and Tubs Blue Zoos. Upstairs I'm working on 4 or 5 other spectacular colonies as well, but they're not quite ready for fragging.

I must admit that after taking a hiatus this summer where I left the tank mostly untouched for 4 months, I'm excited to get back into improving my "coral garden". Next I need to dramatically improve my photography skills. One step at a time though.
