Can I use a Mag Drive 9.5 with a 5/8 inch return tubing?

The water shoots into the tank like an open faucet! Is this too much flow? 120 gallon tank with cpr wet dry filter.

with a ball valve to reduce the flow as needed yes. need to know the height your pushing up along with how your plumbing the pump, ie the diameter of the tubing how many turns and what type (90, 45 ,22) to give better info
