can no longer dive. snorkel only

what's the best place in the world for shallow snorkeling? not caribbean. dove the hella outta it for a while.
sulawesi has been recommended. wakatobi in particular. any ideas? wife wants to dive, so that should be taken into consideration.

Well Wakatobi would suit both of your needs. Superb diving. Bit of trek to get there.

Akumal Bay in Mexico is very nice and they have huge turtles. Last summer I stayed at the Akumal Beach Resort and was very pleased with my vacation. ABR is an all inclusive resort about an hour south of Cancun. The place is not fancy but the service was good and the water was great.
