Can nori / algae kill a trigger?

I had a clown trigger that was perfect then died one day for no apparent reason.

The only thing is that it would stuff itsself nightly on the nori I fed my tangs. It would balloon up like a football after eating 1/2 sheet of algae.

I know triggers dont eat much veggies in nature could this have harmed it?

I feed my triggers a sheet of nori every other day.

I ALSO FEED MY TRIGGERS NORI ON A REGULAR BASES WITH NO ILL RESULTS. I HAVE FOUND THAT CLOWN TRIGGER ARE VERY SENSEITVE TO PH CHANGES AND OVEREATING AS ARE BLUE LINE TRIGGERS
