Can the Aquapod 12g top be removed?

I can get a good deal on an Aquapod 12g, but it's the one with the hood. I plan to remove the hood and install a HOT MH fixture, but I've now heard a couple stories regarding removing the hood of an Aquapod. Is it difficult, or does it just lift off?

Need to know before I move on getting the tank...any help would be appreciated...

If you are just going to remove the top i would look in to a different set up. I mean you can get spare tanks from nanotuners very cheap.
as to your question the removal of the hood goes either way. i tried for several days and could not get mine off while others have just popped them rite off.
But as i said if you are just going to remove the hood then whats the purpose of getting an enitre all in one.

I agree. Unless the thing is damn near free, the whole point of the all-in-one tanks is their sleek appearance.

I took the top off of mine to accomidate my custon lighting and fans, but like was mentioned above, I got mine for free.

Hmm...I want the 12g, with the chambers that come with the Aquapod. It's not free (sadly :)), but I can't get the aquapod with no top using this deal, so I was wondering if the top on this one can be popped. I'm still coming up to speed on nano equipment...

I just removed mine to make some special mods. Lift the canopy 45 degrees from the closed-level position. Then try to tilt the hinged rear up while tugging towards you.

i think it varies per revision. they have like 3 different models out.

But if you could put your back on and make a video you would answer many peoples threads.
