Can the Sedra be swapped out on a ER CS8-2-RC?

Can a Sedra 5000 be swapped out for a Sedra 9000 on a older version of an Euro Reef CS8-2-RC?

I can't get this skimmer to foam much no matter what level I place the internal water level at with the gate valve.
It's more like a watery green skimmate and mostly from condensation.

It seems that perhaps the Sedra 5000 is under powered in this 8" diameter skimmer.

Will a Sedra 9000 be a direct fit for the existing uni-seal ports on the skimmer body or is the pump different enough not to align with the skimmer?

Does PA have the needle wheel modified Sedra 9000 FS?

Hi,

Unfortunately you can not change out the 9000 on a unit that has been drilled for the 5000. The 9000 is a taller pump, and would not go right into the hole that is there for the 5000 recirc.
