can this be real?

everyone i know who has ordered from that place has had a 50% or less survival rate on the corals. Also pests are an issue there. And not getting what you ordered, customer service, etc, etc, etc

if you are buying from them, be careful w/ the pics. Their WYSIWYG is not always WYSIWYG. I emailed them and asked about it before. and they replied "You think you can get that frag for $10?"

Bingo, that's been my experience. "You can get it replaced on your next order" = spend another $125+ for free shipping.

I ordered a bunch from the $10 section during the coldest part of winter. all he coral turned out great. for $130 came free shipping plus the free coral pack on $100 orders. 16 nice frags for $130. that's hard to not like. the frags are small but well beyond worth the $10. most LFS would still be charging $30 for many of these frags.

I have order corals for him before only lost one out of 18pcs. They were all lps no sps Some of his stuff is good but got watch out and research the coral you want. Alote of vendor corals are look alike. That being said.
For the real ice fire echinata is out of Bali and nOt many vendors have the real one. I think there only 2-3 vendors that have the real icefire. The one he is selling is a Aussie echinata and people are calling it icefire acro.
The one I have is from Tommy Patton and its just now getting some green/yellowish on the base. I also have the Aussie and DFS real deal. they all look diffrent.

Yes, "Aussie" and "icefire" don't belong together, and that's the give away. I have a large Aussie colony of A. echinata but my real icefire came from San Francisco 3rd generation from James at Aquascene. You're not likely going to find the real deal for $10 but I did sell one frag at y'all's swap of the real deal (albeit small) for $15 but that was a one-shot deal.

Sonny's problem is he chops and ships, no time to acclimate, wild colonies. Very stressful on the corals and hence the poor survival rates. His packaging is sub-par as well and he uses low-grade heat packs. Sometimes you get lucky but often you do not. He could do much better but he has to move inventory to keep his prices low and even at $10 a frag, he is still making a healthy profit.

I had 3 out of 12 DOA with cool water, but for $80 that is not bad. I do not care if the corals are what they call them as I can not remember names anyway.

We need to get togather and do some trading. I got some rare sps too but most are still frags.
