As the title states, baring any tank condition issues, will providing as much Nori as the tang will eat, while it continues to eat some meaty foods, cause any issues as long as water quality is maintained?
I don't think so, but I've never come anywhere close to feeding that much... Once your tang is a good size it will likely eat much more nori than you are willing to put into your tank over the course of a day. I've had some tangs that slow down when they are full at the end of a single feeding. You should soak your nori with vitachem, selcon, etc...
TANGS have a rapid rate of digestion as most herbivores do.Their bellies should always be full and well rounded. Often overlooked is the fact that tangs also consume a good amount of copepods and mico inverts that live on the algae that tangs consume.Always offer pe mysis, hikari blood worms etc. they always seem to find a favorite food.Hippos also eat plankton . mine enjoy reef nutritions tiger pods and frozen cyclopeez. I always try to diversify tangs diets and include foods rich in fatty acids. thats why people also soak foods in selcon. One needs not over feed fatty supplements , as fatty liver syndrome is often a result of an imbalanced diet. Natural sources are always best .SUPPLEMENTS CAN BE OFFERED 2 -3 X/WEEK to avoid over dosing
