can you get pinched mantle by buying a coral that's in a system with clams w/ pm

I went to my lfs and was gonna buy a coral. i noticed that a bunch of their clams had pinched mantle disease. then i noticed all their tank water was plumbed together so separate tanks were using the same water. i wanted to buy a coral or two but was way too paranoid that i'd be giving my clam pinched mantle by either letting in tank water from their system or something from their coral. what would you do? anyone have any experience with this?

seeing as a FWD of the clam will get rid of the PM and they don't appear to get re-infected when placed back in the tank, i would guess that the protozoan live on the clam only and not the surrounding corals and rocks. so in theory you should be able to buy the corals with no problem but you might wan't to QT just to be sure.

as i said this is just a guess but it seems logical
