Let me know! Because I just added another one to my tank that I got for free (some one broke down their tank)...
Thanks

So you already have 2? I guess you'll let us know right? :)

Anyway, I've got 2 firefish, a no-no, and 4 tangs, another nono. But, they all get along fine.

haha okay. well i'm just asking because as i was floating the bag my wrasse was nipping at the bag already. i wasn't sure if its saying "whatsup" or "i dont like you"
thought I would ask first.
We will find out!

I also have 2 tangs too haha.

My guess is they will fight. I know my LFS always keeps them in separate tanks when they get in a shipment.

6 line is one of the more aggressive wrasses.

hm, well i just added him to the tank.. and i have the lights off, fish are full, and i put him on the other side of the tank.
i'll keep an eye on them.
has anyone had 2 of them in their tank?

For the wrasses sake I hope it will be easy to get one out when there is a problem. As a tip, Its always a bad idea to act first and then ask in this hobby when you have a situation your not sure of, especially when there are so many people within easy reach (keyboard) that will have the correct info.

Really?? I had 4 together at one time and they got along fine. They all swam together. Well, for what little swimming they actually do. One later jumped and I had to sell the other 3 a few months later due to a move.

How big is youre tank? I had 2 in a 210g and they stayed on seperate ends of the tank with no problems. I also had alot of LR (350 lbs.) in the tank.

its a 125 gallon. I bought a package deal and that other 6 line just came with it. not going to throw it away or anything

Six-lines will pair up if you are lucky enough to get a male and female and they get along. You will have better luck getting a male and female if one of them is much larger then the other.

Here is a website with some helpful information:

I took a chance and bought a really small one to go with a large one and they paired up. Every six weeks or I would have babies hiding in the corals but I was never able to raise them.

I think the best method to have 2 line wrasses is to get first small and after at least one week introduce another one but bigger . In my case they fought for about half an hour and they have accepted each other . Recently I added one more and he was killed instantly by the bigger one .

you could always just get one 12 line-wrasse. But you never know exactly what fish are gonna do. So as far as people giving their friends fish for free I don't mind taking in a new addition as long as I watch him carefully to see what he does. My algae blenny and bicolor angel spend the night cleaning the back wall of the tank together

I think you're actually referring to a 4 lined wrasse, Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia. The underlined and bolded "tetra" actually being a Greek prefix, meaning 4.

I'd never attempt to keep a 6 lined and 4 lined wrasse together, unless it was a HUGE tank. The 6 line is much more aggressive and they are similar enough, in appearance that the 6 line would most likely kill the 4 line.

Probably not well. 6-lines are one of the more aggro types. I have a placid pink margin in a 105 and I'd hesitate to add another.

There will always be someone who says there two get on just fine, they are the exception to the rule. For me having dealt with a few hundred the rule is not to put two into a tank, I would also add that although they look great you should always keep an eye on them as they can become problematic, In most display tanks I set up if there was ever a problem it would always be the six line that was the cause.

Six-lines and yellow dottybacks are two of my 'oh, no, not in my tank!' Been there, done that, got the teeshirt.
