I posted last week about my tru and false percs not pairing. After a week and some timeout in qt they still did not get along so I returned the false perc to the LFS. While I was there I spotted blk false perc and thought I'd give it one more try. They seem to be getting along so far (2-days) but I'm wondering if there may be problems in the future.

A. percula and A. ocellaris can pair and have fertile offspring. In fact most if not all clowns can interbreed.

They have been together since Sunday and have shown no aggression so far. I will give them more time, just wanted to be sure I was'nt trying something that won't work.

thanks for the info, Chris

So what exactly does a half false/true clown look like, and how are they classified?

I find that very interesting that they can produce fertile offspring.

Probably just like a false or true clown, as they're very similar both genetically and in appearance.

Many other animals can produce fertile offspring when mated with an animal of the same genus but different species...dogs, for instance. It's really not that uncommon.
