Can you use any glue on lr

i read about the epoxy so i bought some the other day and was trying it out right now on some base rock i got in today.
so i am about to find out.

Go to Home Depot and find the stuff made by Oatey, it's the same epoxy putty, and is much cheaper.

I've tried Marineland's Epoxy, and definately do not recommend it. I too, was trying to attatch base rock, and I even let it dry overnight, and it completely fell apart the moment I nudged it. The epoxy wasn't tacky in the first place which got me wondering about its reliability, but never the less I paid $ for it, so I gave it a try, and it turned out to be the biggest waste of money I have spent to this date. After such an experience I was too deferred from buying any other brand so I have no other type of epoxy recommendations, sorry. But good luck none the less!

Is it safe to use inside the tank or should i take the rock out first.
You can use it in the tank, it may cause your skimmer to foam for a few minutes. One trick is to press it into a few small holes, so that when it dries it has something to hold on to. You can do this by making two separate pieces, working them into the rock and then sticking the epoxy together. It seems to stick better this way.

You can use acrylic rods (not glass) or epoxy putty. Note that the putty does not glue but rather trap. For it to grab you need to push it into the pores of both rocks and if possible spread it thin to the sides in a grabbing form and let dry, do it inside the aquarium so you do not need to move the rock. Wet or dry rock makes no difference.
