Candy cane just spit up.....

I have a purple candy cane with 2 heads that I was watching like I always do. One of the heads spit out some cloudy stuff like it was a geyser, then it proceeded to shrivel up. I'm not worried, just curious if anyone can tell me what that is. Tank has been doing good. No other concerns to speak of. Thanks.....

yeah my lps always do that. Its just because i spot feed my corals a lot. I like my corals to grow fast

LOL, thanks! Here I was thinking it was a sexual or aggression thing....I didn't know corals pooped. Good to know.....good to know......

What color was the cloudy stuff?

Corals typically have two different forms of "cloudy stuff" discharge that's noticeable by us. One is white, that's typically sperm. The other is brown, and typically zooxanthellae expulsion. We rarely see "poo", or the discharge of undigested food. When we do, it typically isn't in the form of "cloudy stuff".

Yup, I agree. If it's splitting, you should be fine.
