How many times i have to feed my candy cane?? Because I try to feed him at night but i have to wait an eternity for him to open. This is normal or its something wrong?

you dont have to post this question in 6 different forums. this is called soft corals, a candycane is an LPS. your question has been answered multiple times so please stop asking

EXCUSE ME BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I ASK THIS QUEST HERE!!! AND SECOND SORRY ABOUT THE MISTAKE OF THE SOFT CORAL OR LPS!!!! OK?? MY BAD!! NEXT TIME DONT POST IN MY THREADS IF U ARE GONNA CRITICIZE ME CUZ EVERYBODY MAKE MISTAKES!!! THANKS ANYWAY!

Please don't let anyone discourage you Casy..ask away..feed it like twice a week after lights are off it will be trained in no time and open up regularly.

And seriously romsoccer12 you of all people should not be talking down to someone for asking a question...how many threads have you started asking beginner questions..hmm?

Thanks alot Ohiomom for your help!! I really appreciated =] Ilike to feed my corals everytime i can but with the candy cane i'm having a little bit of problems cuz they take too long to open. I turn of the lights at 10 and sometimes at 12 they havent opend yet and i get frustrated.. i feed them brine shrimp, sometimes mixed with raw shrimp and dissolved formula one!! Is that ok?

Ah and by the way i felt really bad when that romsoccer12 wrote me that....=/ cuz it was the first time i wrote the quest. another user wrote oneasking the same but thats not my problem. i felt really bad for real! =[

But thanks for your help =]

It's fine...don't feed too much or too often will cause problems in your tank..2 times a week should be enough and they will learn to open quicker in time..:)

ok im sorry .....it was a mistake......but i didnt posted before.... and besides it was my first time posting so i was a little lost.....but again im really sorry my bad. =/

np. ive never fed my candycane corals and they are seeming to be doing fine. Normally at night they will extend sweeper tentacles but ive never seen mine do this.

Casy..... What the others have said is true. I have a Candy Cane that I rescued from my LFS. I actually got it as part of some live rock rubble for my bluespot jawfish. I was ready to break it up with a hammer and noticed some flesh on one of the heads and thought, what the heck! I'll put it in my tank and see what happens. At first I would squirt some brine shrimp on it and to my surprise, it ate it. I kept doing this for a while and then I noticed more heads on it.

I then put it on a rock high in my tank, it does get a lot of light and good flow. It now has at least 12 heads! I don't feed it now and it seems to be doing great!

Here is a pic of the candy cane I rescued. This pic was taken a while back after it started to recover. It has gotten much larger since then. Not too bad for a "freebie"!

Umm considering this post started over a week ago..how does it not make sense to now have 60 or so posts. In any event WHY does it matter and why be confrontational..I just don't get it..don't like the topic or post don't answer and move along.

Excuse me? I was just pointing out a fact. Nothing confrontational about it. When I see BS, I call someone on it.

THIS, however, was pretty confrontational:

And just where did you see any BS..hmm..why call someone out on something that isn't true..your post count changes on ALL your post as you continue..

True story to use your words.

Hey if someone says something nasty the OP has a right to say something back..in any event done but like droberts says..where is the common courtesy.
