Cant decide what kind of clown to get

What are you looking for in a clownfish? If you aren't sure, than just a basic A. percula or A. ocellaris will probably suit you best. But if you have a rather aggressive tank, then you might look in to P. biaculeatus.

This person is trying to keep a clown, damsel, and nem in a 6 gal aquarium.
I'm wondering how old little x is.
Sounds like a nemo fan.

Just because little x is only 16 doesn't mean he/she is stupid. Rather than poking fun at the person why don't you try to better educate them and help them out. I'm 16 too and even though I know better than to put a clown and anemone in a 6 gal, I expect that people would treat me just as kindly as a person who has kept a reef for 20 years. The only way I know what I do, and am able to keep an aquarium is because people were nice to me and taught me, and didn't make fun of me just because I made a stupid decision.

I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, I just think that you should think before you talk/type next time and try to help poeple rather than put them down. After all that is the point of this forum isn't it....

Is their a problem here?? if u guy are brave enuff say it to my face.dont try and put me down b/c i am new to this

Abraham is right on that.

It's a little hard to say it to your face though little x, this is a forum you know, and nobody really knows who you are. Just something to think about...

A. ocellaris, or also known as a false percula clown would be fine I'm sure.

What size tank will it be in?

Abraham, where does it suggest that I meant little x was stupid?
I've given this person some advice in the past that made me think I was talking to someone very young that might not fully get the concept of what it takes to take care of these animals.
Bwest, read b4 you post your comments.
It's already been stated that this is a 6 gal. tank.
I also happen to know that this is a brand new tank that has a damsel, clown, and an anemone in it.
I also have been privately messaged from this person that they think the clown is now dying, and the tank has a huge amonia spike.
I'm just giving truthful advice, and reading thoroughly b4 giving it.

Gee whiz...it seems like youre picking on me today davocean. It may have seemed obvious to you that it was in a 6 gallon aquarium. I realize that you personally stated it, but little x never did. It wasn't at all obvious that you had been pm'd by them either.

The tone in your posts comes off as being quite arrogant in my opinion.

Don't mistake directness, honesty and intelligence for arrogance. He's right, and if you'd read the posts before about this, it is almost comical, and Davocean is still being patient and helpful to this kid. What I want to know is where's the moderator on this site to give a hand to Biggy Smalls and Little X? We're all just looking out for the best interests of the fish and to avoid disappointment and disaster. JMO.;)

Okay, can everybody just be quiet and help this guy out?

Alright little x, I think that your tank is too small for any clown. This is because:

(1) Your tank is overstocked. 6 gallon tanks are too small for just about everything. It is too small for your anemone, your clown, and your damsel. Even if you only kept one of those creatures, it would still be too small.

(2) You have a damsel in the tank. It's not good to keep damsels and clowns together in small tanks. This is because damsels are aggresive fish that like to bully other fish, even fish that are 6 times their size.

(3) You shouldn't be keeping a 6 gallon tank with your level of experience. "Nano" tanks are tanks that are around 10 gallons or less. Only experienced aquarists try "nanos" because their small size allows large parameter fluctuations to occur.

Personally, if I were you, I would take the remaining tank inhabitants back to the pet store and perhaps buy a clown goby or some other small fish. Or, perhaps you should purchase a larger tank like a 26g so you can have a pair of clowns.

I hope I didn't sound rude or obnoxious. I'm just trying to help.

Concerning the age thing, I'm 14. So none of you guys can pick on us youngins just because we're better looking and smarter than you.:D

Finally someone who knows my true nature!
Thanks seahorse.
I'm not trying to be rude or pick on anyone, and nowhere does it state young = stupid.
Just trying to read into this person the same as some try to judge me from a typed message I guess.
I've just heard too many stories of kids watching nemo and then throwing their new clown in a golfish bowl.
Cute, and nice to see kids interested, but still not right to do.
And by the way, I may not be a youngin', but I still look damn good for my age!(now you can call me arrogant!):)
