Can't seem to remove CP from my DT

More than a month ago I treated my DT with Chloroquine Phosphate (Ick Shield powder). When I decided to take it out, I started lights at good intensity, ran carbon for 2-3 days (in a temp HOB filter). This was more than 10 days ago. There is no sign of algae anywhere (except maybe a small bit on one of the rock). I keep lights on for several hours and feed lot of frozen food etc. There is no doubt that there is still plenty of CP left over. I put 3 snails and they are all dead in 2 days. The Xenia frag just melted in 2 days.

How do I get this monkey off my back? Will 50% water changes 2-3 time in 2 weeks help? I don't have any corals yet. I suspect there is still CP on the sand bed as the snails instantly retracted and died shortly.

I also put a porcelain crab but probably will be OK.

I've used chemi-pure elite and had algae starting to grow w/i a few days. I suppose it would take a long time with high nutrients for a full-on algae bloom, which I doubt anyone wants anyway.

No snails in the system so can't comment there.

Chemi-pure, Poly-filter, GFO and GAC all remove CP. Turning on your reef lights should also denature it and allow it to be adsorbed by the above.

I dosed my FOWLR tank with CP and did a 90% WC. After 2 weeks tried to put snails in but all died. I eventually broke the tank down because I could not keep snails or when I wanted to try coral, alive. I think the rock absorbed the CP and slowly released it.

This is what I am afraid of!
