so stressed bout this...

ok so i thought i had ich in my qt, after seeing all my fish start scratching and breahting heavily, saw no spots at all, then saw one huge one that was square on my korans poectoral fin, my tang showed no signs of ich ever. lowered salinity to 1.017, fed garlic soaked food and raied temp to 28 degrees celcius, then noticed 2 more big fuzzy white spots on my puffers fins. also my korans skin looks kind of fluffy very strrange?

so i began copper treatment after i lost the tang, started at very low levels last week, have raised it up to an adequate level now but fish still scratch, and now my koran has stopped eating.... fish still breath fast.

i dont know what i am treating, but after 1 week in copper i still have not cured this yet and whatever it is, is bothering my koran so much he wont eat, now what else can i do? a freshwater dip to try and give this fish some instant relief or do i simply have to sit it out and hope the copper kicks in before he dies?

to top this all off, my 2 year old cleaner wrasse, is still in my display as i cant treat him with copper so my tank is not fallow and i will have to go buy a new tank and heater to house him in then decide how the hell i am going to cure this fish without copper....

The description of "big fuzzy white spots" sounds like it could be Lymphocystis, but that is generally not deadly.

Have you seen an image of a fish infected with Brooklynella? It does not really match your description, but it is deadly and does not respond to copper.

yeh just read up lots of info on wet web media... still no closer to a diagnosis or solution.... brook sounds like it could been a possibilitty but these fish have been like this for 2 weeks by the sounds of things they would be dead a long time ago if it was brook....

thanks for the reply, just gonna hope the copper takes effect, i considered removing the copper to see if the angel will eat again and its the copper bothering him but, i reckon i wont.

cheers

just done a freshwater dip, noticed that he has lost the use of his left pectoral fin and it is a dark colour, half the length it should be???? dont think this fish will pull through, worried to that he has 2 big white spots on his tail and this tank is being treated with copper so im totally at a loss to be able to fix this....
