Did a big water change today, change out the GFO, carbon, vacuumed the fuge, the frag tank and the sump. cleaned the filter sock, filled the kalk reactor with more kalk, tested the water ... all good in da hood :D:celeb1:

did you remember to dip the frags I brought and then putt them in the frag tank before you went to bed the other night, Cap'n? :-)

Lol, I finished dipping everything right around mid night. Got my routine down and I think I did it in my sleep ;)

Sometime I make post like this to keep track of things, others are welcome to use the same log.

Continue with the logging:
The timer on the ozone generator was broken, orp reading was 295. Replaced it with a different timer and the ozone is working again. Walked inside to look at the tank and noticed one of the halide is not working ... yike! it's either going to be new bulb or new ballast. I just ordered some T5s and now the halide might be bad.

Note to self, I need to sell the two frags of the bazooka joe and use that money to buy a new galaxy ballast :D

One of my Radium bulb is dead, right now I am using the hamilton 14k temporarily in it's place.

Lumenmax is great but I am not sure how much more lights I will gain compare to my current luminux. I do have an old 175 watt halide ballast so as a test, maybe I can borrow your 175 watter and compare it to the radium?

adding to the log. Cleaned all filters, cleaned out skimmer, installed actinic bulbs in canopy, walked dog making sure to take him past Kens house to continue training him to poop on his lawn, did 15 gal water change and removed dual reactor to clean and add new gfo and carbon and fragged out some no name zoes and shrooms for some highschool kids my son knows that are getting into the hobby.

Been too busy cleaning poop off my front yard to reef. It's like a herd of elephants keep evacuating there!

Started a campaign to get local kids to befriend Grant's son and beg frags.

:D

All kidding aside, did 3rd and final Interceptor treatment over the weekend (I saw a redbug in my tank!), followed 12 hours later by resumption of carbon filtration with fresh carbon and 25% water change. I had been noticing reduced polyp extension from many of my acros and maybe it was irritation from redbugs? I dunno. But it's turning around now and I'm getting some fur even during the day from some again. Amazingly, my fire shrimp survived the entire process. Cleaner shrimp and most hermits did not. Last time I qt'd my shrimp and crabs.

Replaced my Vortech wet side. It was an original gen 1 model and was beginning to make unusual "something is worn in the fast spinning device" noises. There are user replacable parts, but mine was so old I was concerned about the old style seal around the magnet (has since been redesigned). All better now.

Algae, while not gone, has reduced considerably from my all time hairiest. Running gfo and cutting back on lps feedings I think have been the biggest factors and adding a tiny kole tang (the smallest Jake has ever seen!) has also helped.

I need to watch my fish load. I'm up to 4 little ones in my 100g!

I didn't know I was supposed to vacuum out the fuge? I thought you were not supposed to touch it. Will it hurt the pod population? I have a ton but you can hardly see the babies.
