Filled new Co2 bottle and connect ot the reactor 8-15-07
Reactor ph reading 6.79
Tank Alk 10.9 ... need to slow down buble count

Change out 2 VHO bulbs and 2 Radium bulbs yesterday 8-17-07
install 1 175 watt Iwasaki 15k bulb on the frag tank 8-17-07

Did a 25 gal water change today 8-18-07
Alk reading 8.6
Calcium 420

Took out a huge piece of Galaxia Coral about the size of a bowling ball, that has been dying for months and stuck it on the lawn and hosed it off. :blown:

Guy you baddddd, ok lets log it :D

Guy kill his Galaxia with a garden hose 8-19-07
PH normal,
Alk normal,
Cal normal
Guy ... NOT.....

Checked Alk this morning and it was a bit low 6.7, made an adjustment with two parts solution, will check again tonite. Hopefully the calcium reactor will kick in soon.

Alk is now 8 which is perfect, hopefully it will be this way until the next time the co2 tank runs out. I need to get a bigger co2 tank :D :D

A few weeks ago my alk was low, about 6-7, and noticed color loss. I have brought it up to 8-9 and it is amazing how much color has come back in the corals.

Chris, yeah, I monitor my alk very closely to keep my corals from stressing out. Its the test kit that I use alot off more than any others.

btw, how is our purple rim cap doing ??? :D

Man I've been lagging in my log.

Did a water change yesterday, and 2 weeks ago, alk was low 7.0. Added some alk, some calcium. All the corals are happy.

The frag tank is full of algea, I think I will need to get a tang for that tank. Now I know why I saw tang in people's frag tank :D

The Iwasaki 15k is supper bright, too bright so it has bleach couple of my corals, everything in the frag tank has lighten up. I am debating about switching back to the 175watt xm20k

all is good. What i've notice is the corals colors were effected by the low alk, so once the alk was stable the color of the corals seems to be getting better

Tom, did you screen the top when you put those new bulbs on? From the picture things are looking good. What's that little yellow guy in the top left? Did you get some more fish?

That's cuz you need to increase your reactor output some more... now that you have all these huge corals, they are sucking your tank dry of calcium and alkalinity.

Chris no, I because I was running dual bulbs so running these by themselves are less par then what I had, but so far I love the Radium bulbs. Even the corals sitting at the bottom of my tank are coloring up real nice. It may have something to do with the luminarc too.

Jasson, yeah, I've increased productions of my reactor, but appearantly wasn't enough, the bubble counts are crazy now :D :D I am going through a 5lb bottle of co2 every 6 months now, it used to last 10 months to a year.
