Carbon in quarantine?

Is anyone running carbon on their quarantine systems? I feed mysis and seaweed to my tang in qt and his tank clouds up in 48 hours. I know water change is good but I'm trying to do weekly water changes and use prime. This is a non cycled qt. It was setup in an emergency and I cannot use media from my DT as it has ich!

My tang has gone through 3 weeks in copper and is now in a " holding tank that's not cycled. None of my qt tanks are cycled and I don't plan to medicate unless i see something come up. So if I'm not running medication any reason not to run copper? I'm surprised how cloudy the water has gotten after just 48 hours.

No medication other than Prazipro should be used; however carbon should not be used.

I use carbon in my qt tank once the medication is done. I'll also use it for a week or so before I start medicating.

IMHO, copper should be used as a last resort only. NOT as a prophylactic. Copper is toxic to fish at a level just above what is lethal to whatever parasite you are attempting to overcome. There are better ways of treating symptomatic fish, and if they are not symptomatic, one must question why you would be medicating anyway. It would be very much like subjecting a human to chemotherapy "just because" they might develop cancer.
