Carbon- What and How Long

I usually use chemi-pure but am looking at additional. Who has good success with what. After just reading Kents instructions they said you should only use 3 days at a time including all other brands of carbon. I used to use my chemi-pure for about 3-4 weeks. Any feedback is great.

I like OZONE. It works wonders for my tank and add's to the brain cell loss.

I use Black Diamond myself. There is a ton of info on the chemistry board regarding carbons and comparison testing.

Black Diamond here too. I will end up buying bulk carbon at some point when I get the tanks going.

I fill up a phosban reactor about 2/3 full and run it for about a week, two if I forget but 24/7.

Heard that carbon was only good for one day if so why run it continuous? What is the real time it is good 4 ?

Most but not all of it is inactive after a day or two but there are certain compounds which are worth removing that will continue to be removed for a couple weeks. On the following threads, really pay attention to Boomer, he is the "Know all" of carbon. And obviously Randy our Chemistry Guru. He will even turn the ball over to Boomer on Carbon many times.
