CARC March Meeting

The Central Alabama Reef Club will hold its March meeting on March the 17th at 3:30pm over at Sarris Underwater Creations in Bessemer,AL. You can find directions on their site, and I am sure that as soon as possible Iconz will have them up on our site as well at www.alabamareefers.com. We will also try to distribute fliers at Sarris and anywhere else anyone woud like to post them (maybe some of the Tuscaloosa guys can get some on campus bulletin boards). If anyone is really good with design and would like to design the flier please let me know. If I don't get a volunteer then I will make one, however I am not a designer so it may be lacking the flare. If you would like to get some to post about, just get with me and I will email it to you. We hope to have a strong showing from all our members, and also would like to pick up new members as well. I have spoke with the guys at Sarris and they seemed excited, they said expect a spread like last time on the food and drinks. Those of you that were there will remember that we had some great eating, and "Mama" made sure we had plenty. Even more exciting news is they have invited Philip Root of The Coral Gardens over as the guest speaker. See you there!

Looks like me and my father-in-law will join all of you this time.We will be newbies also to the club,but been in reefkeeping for 10+ years.What time is the meeting and will we need to bring any thing?Looking forward to meeting all of you.

At this meeting, we will meet and greet for a little while when we first get there (this equates to standing around staring at the tanks and talking reefing amongst ourselves) Then we will have our guest speaker (and now member) Philip Root give us a lecture on what ever he has came up with. After that then we will all make our way over to Mom's table for some of the best finger foods around. After that we will do club business and this hasn't been announced yet but we will give away door prizes. We will have a good time. I dont know about pin the tail on the damsel at this meeting however that does sound interesting As for arm wrestling competitions, that would only happen if we were fighting over a frag. Awesome to see some new folks with interest! As Allen noted above ther will be some VERY NICE door prizes! I've had the luxury of catching word of what some of them are, and I'm excited to see them sitting out on a table, up for grabs!.... This is probably going to be our best meeting yet, with a great presentation (either lecture/discussion or deminstration), and the fore-mentioned (sp?) door prizes...

Also, if anyone wants to do some fragg swapping / trading / donating... please feel free to make a post as to what you want and can bring, and somone here will probably be willing to help ya out.

BTW, if anyone has some nicely colored lps/softies that they can frag, I'd love to take them off of your hands. I don't have any corals to trade yet, but I don't mind compensating you accordingly. Just shoot me a PM with what you have.
