Cardboard Tubes

I realize this is not 'reef' related- Does anyone have any ideas where I can get some thick (3/8- 1/2") thick cardboard tubes that are about 14- 16 " in diameter? Please do not suggest concrete forms as they are way to thin. I am trying to resurrect a cat tree that I found one day while I was curb shopping. I investigated some places on-line and they want $$$$$(big). The lengths would be great over 18". Just need them thick enuf to shoot staples in to hold the carpet on them. I am trying not to resort to using the concrete forms + glue as I want to eliminate as much mess as possible.

check you local carpet retail joints ,,,,, most of the tie they throw them in the trash , see if you can have them save 1 or 2 for you ,,,take a hack saw with you or a pickup cause they come in 12 ft sections
