Carpet Anemone Help

Need some help/suggestions. I've got a pretty large Carpet that I really like. I've had it for a while and it seems to be doing well. The problem is I'm pretty sure its killed 3 tangs so far. One was a blonde naso that I just bought for 80 bucks :mad2: added to the tank this morning. I'm not 100% sure its gone, But I added to the tank he was swimming around fat and happy with the other fish. I dropped a little flake food the the tank just to see if he would eat, he did. Anyway, I walk out to the equipment room for a few mins come back and the tang is no where to be found. The carpet is also semi closed up. I checked the carpet and didn't see the fish and his mouth was closed so At first I thought well maybe he got some flake food and the Tang is just hiding. Well the tang is still is nowhere to be found. So I'm thinking my carpet got a more expensive lunch then I've ever had.. 45.00 steak is about the most I've spent on lunch in my life..

So what are my options here. I'd like to keep the carpet, but I'd also like some fish in a 300 gallon tank. I've heard if I add a saddle back clown that hosts the carpet it will help keep fish away. I've also read about placing a strainer over the carpet for a day or two after adding new fish. You guys with carpets and fish I'd love to hear any tricks of the trade. BTW I have solar tubes and this was around 10:30am so there was plenty of light.
Here is a pic of the perp in question this was taken 2days ago. I think he gained a few OZs since then:mixed:

Well.. Carpets eat fish.. If the fish is dumb enough to make contact it dies. I also lost a Naso to my carpet. Other Tangs I've had a long time. Its part of owning one. You could add a saddleback but My Naso swam into my carpet and I have a pair of clowns in it. Saddlebacks can be pretty hard on the nem as well and can kill them at times. (not always of course)

I told my wife it was natural selection, She didn't really think it was funny :eek2: As far as the saddle backs go. That sucks I was hoping that might help. I'm not to worried about the carpet. Don't get me wrong I like it and want it to stay healthy. But I've had it for awhile. Its been moved to a couple different tanks and has been in the current tank for about 6 months. It seems to be pretty tough and even during tank moves and lighting changes it hasn't missed a beat.

I am an oddball when it comes to Haddonis and eating fish. I currently have 4 of them. In the 9 years of keeping at least one, I have only lost two fish -- a yellow watchman goby and a Mandarin. Two of the 4 are hosting clowns, and the other two aren't. Until yesterday I never ran any moonlights. (( got a new light fixture for one of the tanks -- 2 in that one, and 2 in the other )).

One of the tanks has a fairly high bio-load, tang included, so there has been changes for fish to get eaten.

The only thing I can even remotely think of that might help me out, is that I don't feed the anemones all that often. Every 3-4 weeks, seems that others feed more often. Not sure if that is a factor or not, but....

Thats sort of the messed up thing. I dont have moon lights on that tank and I have a mandarin and a pink spotted watchman goby. The only fish I've lost to it are Tangs. lol I could live with a 15-20 mandarin or watchman here and there. But these 80 dollar tangs getting ate is another story. I feed mine a piece of shrimp about once a week. I'm sure it gets bits of food here and there while I feed the fish also.
