Carpet anemone not eating

So lately my carpet is not eating like I used to. Ive had it for about 7-8 months and always ate good. The carpet does not come out much and stays hidden under some rocks (which make like a cave).

I have T5 lighting and all my parameters are good.

Any advice on how to get my carpet to eat and come out into the open. I am thinking of raising my lights a little higher to see if that will help but other than that I don't know why its acting like that.

I did change from Chinese LED to T5...a little more shy since the change over to T5 but he has always been like that from the start.

its been about 4 months since I installed the T5 lights. I also went on a time schedule when I installed the lights....that way my livestock could adjust.

well I haven't checked if he is sticky by touching it myself...but when I feed it fish the fish does stick to it.

and yes, I feed silversides, but will try krill today and see what happens. I might soak it in garlic if I need to but I will try krill first.

I lost an eel not too long ago and I was feeding it silversides as well....so I think I will not buy them anymore.

I stopped feeding my carpet silverside indefinitely due to the fact that they can get the carpets sick. I began alternating between krill and squid. Next thing is don't try and force feed him if he isn't eating, I've found out the hard way this will stress him out and likely lead to death due to the food not completely digesting.

yeah, I switched to krill and still not really eating it. I still feed liquid so hopefully that is helping. I will give it a while and try feeding again.

Any update? How's he doing? Is like to add if your feeding the fish or coral liquid meaty foods it's likely the carpet is getting "some" of that. Especially if they have a hosting clown. However if not most anemones don't need to be fed but once a week but to each their own. I feed my nems every 3 days. I have one carpet I rescued from a friend that's bleached and j feed him a pea size peice of food every single day.

sorry for the late update....been a little busy. well I switched over to krill and it doesn't seem to like it very much. I tried a little bit of shrimp and it took a small piece of it. doesn't look like its getting any worse but I haven't seen an improvement. will keep trying different foods

surprised no one has mentioned it, but maybe just stop feeding it. they don't "need" food. and they certainly don't need it all the time

if I feed it and it doesn't eat then I leave it alone. I don't try to force feed it and I only feed every few days. still alive though and yesterday my nemo started getting interested in it. hope it doesn't eat the nemo since I have read that haddonis are known to eat clowns as well.

Just give it some time and keep a close eye on it, my haddoni went through a spell like that also for a few weeks and would wonder all over the tank then one day back to normal open fully and eats anything that he catches. Just to help have you checked your water parameters? If so maybe have it checked with a different test kit, my carpet and btas will act funny if the water quality changes
