carpet brain?

About six weeks ago I purchased a beautiful red carpet brain. Today I noticed a small place on the side that has pulled away from the skeleton. I moved it to an area with a little more flow as it looked like algea on it. Can it replace this tissue or will it just continue to grow larger?

I am guessing you have a trachyphylia (sp). Routine feeding and good water conditions it should repair itself. Big problem is finding why it is receading to begin with

No, I believe it is a symphilla (sp). Not sure what caused it. I just upgraded from a 55 to a 120 but everything has been very stable. No spikes of any kind. Everything else looks great. Here's a picture. This is right after I bought it.
