Carpet ID please

Thank you Minh!! Everyone in the tank is curious and checking it out, I hope when I wake up nothing is missing! fingers crossed.

If you are looking for a good first food, scallops usually gave a good feeding response for me with picky eaters.

I think I'm going to get a piece of salmon for dinner tonight and cut a section into little pieces and freeze it. I'll pick up a scallop as well just in case.

Carpet ID please

Went to get a drink and when I walked past the tank I saw it hosting one of my clowns!! For months it refused to go new my RBTA, I didn't think it would happen this quick.

Fed my nem it's first piece of food. I put the piece of krill far from its mouth to see how long it would take to eat. It took it out of the tongs right away and within less than 5min it moved the piece to its mouth ate it and closed it's mouth right away. It's still bleached, so I'm thinking of feeding it twice a week to help give it energy so hopefully it will color back up. Other than that I would say it made quite the come back.

Gigantea.

It will likely not survive. very hard nem to keep. Strong currents, strong lighting. 50% of them are sick as soon as they hit the retail store imo.

Ive kept 3 successfully out of 10 for more then 3 years. Really tough anemone to keep

Read the cipro sticky at the top. If you stick around a while, you too, may learn something. We never have too much experience to learn... And share... And, welcome to the forum! :)

Yes I've tried Cipro. I am a physician .. so access is easy. Ive dosed 250 mg of Cipro before..some generic brands work better then others. Even after using Cipro, still have had a poor success rate in keeping them alive,

Yes thank you for having me on the forums.

My carpet is doing well. It bleached out and is starting to regain color. I'm very curious if it will be yellow or if when I first got it is was a bleached green. I have one small concern. I know it's not wise to feed a lot but even after I spot feed it my clown will bring it some food when I feed the tank. This doesn't happen all the time though. Should I be concerned?

Gigantea have big appetite. Food bring by the clowns will not cause any problem. From personal experiences, it is hard not to feed a new carpet that start to do well in our tank.
I would not feed him more often than every 3rd day. Anemones are mostly water so a huge anemone does not have a huge biomass. Carpet tend to be able to handle larger amount of food than other species but I would not feed a 6-7 inches carpet anemone more than about 2 cc worth of food at a time.
Best to under feed him and he grow a little slower than over feed and cause him to be sick. If you read my purple Gigantea thread, I make a mistake of over feed my anemone and had a lot of heart burn for a while.

More picture would be nice. I feel as if this anemone is my anemone.:o

I'll be sure to post more pictures when I get home. I'm not good with taking pics with my camera so I'm not going to guarantee any quality pics. I also have a hard time getting the colors to come out.

Here are the pictures Minh,

And one of my bubble tip just for the heck of it

Again I am not a good photographer and still trying to figure out the correct settings, Im trying lol.

He looks great start to regain his zooxanthelae already. I think he will continue to do fine unless some disaster happen to him

Well my gig ate my blood shrimp. It was my favorite member of my CUC it's a sad day. But on the positive side my carpet seems to be doing just fine. It has moved around a bit, due to that I had to move one piece of rock but it's worth it IMO.

I would feed him every few days, 3-7 days, until he recover. I think he is wall on his way to recover for you.

Can carpets live on lights only and without feeding?
