Carpet ID?

I thought that those generally had bright vibrant colors? Or is that just under certain lighting?

A lot of anemones fade a little after being shipped. Once in a nice stable tank with good lighting, most will regain their bright coloring

Ya it probably is a mini maxi. They do come in a variety of colors.

I got this one because I was told it was one that my ocellaris would host to.... Is this right?

Is it possible? Yes.
Is it likely? No.

Maxi minis are not hosting species and there is even the possibility that it could kill your clown.

Thanks everyone... I hate when I don't follow my instincts and instead trust sales people who are supposed to be knowledgeable about what they are caring for and selling....gah!! I guess they saw me coming from a mile away Friday.... I was just to excited to get a host for my clown. :sad1:

I got these at Petco in Corpus Christi. I was very lucky. Now I have to just keep them alive. They are under treatment at this time.

OrionN, how big is your tank? And exactly what kind of anemone is that?

The three I got were S. gigantea carpets. I was just lucky and got them on arrival to Petco. They are in my 20 g treatment tank at this time.

Those are really pretty... After I get my big tank up and running I am going to have to try and find one... Would one of those be ok for a 66 gallon long? Or would it end up being to big for my "big" tank?
