Carpet Nem gaping mouth-stress or hungry?

Hey guys. I just aquaired a 3 carpet anemones that I am holding for a friend for a couple of weeks. They are in a well establish tank inline with my 135 tank. Ever since introducing them to my tank one of them has a huge gaping mouth the others look pretty good now but after the first couple of days they all looked like that. The other two's mouths look pretty normal (closed tight) I did feed them but am getting mixed opinions that they are either hungry or either ready to spit their guts out. Or is this normal for newly acclimated nems of this type.I have had them one week but am woried about the one. They are about 12 inches in diameter and look great otherwise. Not sure if they are haddoni's or Gigantea. Whats your opinion of this. I am thinking it is more stress then hunger that causes this but not sure. Thanks for the advice. It's appreciated. One more thing i forgot is that their feet are all firmly attached to glass bottom if that helps determine anything.

It is not a sign that it is hungry. It is a sign of stress -- something internal is bothering it (( could be bad water, bacterial infection, etc )) and it is trying to get it out.

Are they newly imported, or established anemones?

Hey Todd thanks for the reply. They did come from a established tank before me. they were in transit for a couple hours before they reached my place but thats it.

That makes me feel better. Make sure it is getting enough flow -- to clear away anything that it is trying to expel, but not so much that the oral disc is being consistently being lifted up. Also, I would run some fresh carbon, the skimmer a bit wetter, and do a water change.
