Carpet nem ?'s

Flightpipe

Sea Turtles Love Me......
My GBTA is getting big maybe 7"-8" in diameter and since I have upgraded my lights to T5HO (432w on my 75g) I was thinking about getting a nicer more unique nem like a carpet. The problem is I dont know much about them other than they get pretty big, and they need several inches of sand depending on the area I have a 2"-4" sand bed (I could easily add more if needed).

Since my GBTA is large space should not be an issue more than trying to swap em out.! Does anyone have any experience with this or have some good info on them I cannot find anything really good googleing its more confusing than anything.

Biggest question is thie light i listed above enough for one?
I am a little worried about it eating my fish namely my scooter blenny.
And I have a pair of true percs I would like to host it but that is not my reason for wanting one but it would be a nice bonus.

Several things. Haddoni are easier to keep than gigantea or mertensii, and Haddoni are not the easiest to keep. Since you've been successful with a BTA it stands to reason you'd do okay with a Haddoni. You have PLENTY of light over your 75gal. Swapping the anemones could be tricky, you'd need to get the BTA out first. Then your clowns may not take to your carpet. My buddy tried this exact swap because his BTA was moving around stinging his beautiful SPS. It has been 3mo now, the percs host the sand bend, won't go near the carpet.

JJFly..who told you a haddoni is easier to keep than a Mertensii?.. IMO I think a Mertensii is easier to keep but they are difficult to find available.
Go for it flightpipe..get a carpet anemone. If you can find a healthy Gigantea that would be a better choice for true percs. I have seen a lot of perculas with a haddoni. Your scooter blenny might be a haddoni snack though. I have read that people haven't had any losses of their little fish with a gigantea.
www.pacificeastaquaculture.com has some neon green giganteas right now..I would ask them for more pictures of the anemone first before buying it. It is such a pretty green, if I had the room, I would be tempted to buy it. As of now I have a Mertensii, purple lta and a gbta..yeah so ..no room. :p
