Carpet update

Thanx to all that replied to the 1st feeding thread. After reading all the input I decided the carpet(haddoni)was redy to be feed.It has been in the tank since Thurs.,hadnt moved and hadnt deflated. The mouth was still looking good.Ifeed it a small piece of raw shrimp soaked in selcon. It took the piece and moved it into its mouth using only 1 fold(if u know what I mean). Its a day later still looks good and mouth is still closed.Couple questions. How often should I feed, want it to stay healthy without to much stress.Do carpets normally eat like that(not surrounding the food with its whole body)just using a fold to push it into its mouth. And last for now is there times when you will see some white of the mouth.I see a little white now and then but is usually contributed to (at least I think)poop excrament(spelling?)on the mouth which I just fan away and it returns to normal.Maybe not enough flow.Gues that wasnt my last question.

THNX for all the help my carpet gurus

I feed mine (( at most )) twice a month, but at times I get lazy and go a month between feedings -- at least direct feedings.

It depends on how I feed mine -- if I just give them one little piece of krill only that part of the oral disc will pull in. However if I give them a couple of pieces -- spread out -- the whole oral disc will pull in towards the mouth.

The only time I see the white part of the month is when they are expelling waste, but it really only happens with my tan one.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that my haddoni only eats with one or two folds all the time. Ive been feeding him small about once every 3 days, LPS told me to feed him everyday (crazy) - which might explain why it was bleached out in color at the time of purchase (poor care in general). Its been about 2 weeks and he went from a cream fleshy color to a nice green.

When mine eats, his tongue sticks out to grab the food as well.

its also worth mentioning that they seem to be very hardy compared to other anems my friends have. I had an ammonia spike not too long ago (from adding rock or who knows what) and he wasnt phased aside from freaking out when i turned off the lights.

Im going to start feeding him weekly.

also i adjusted my powerhead a little to help get the poop off of him. it was all over before.

they say if he is sticky to the touch he is healthy, I accidently touched him with a centimeter of my finger today feeding him, and it was super sticky - not slimy but more like Velcro sticky.

Just wanted to share my experiences, im new to this as well.
