Catalina water

There is another vendor who sells under the name Catalina and they are not affiliated with the Catalina salt water in Southern Cali. I understand the water for the sold under Catalina for N. Cali, is from Monterey Bay. You can call Natural Life Aqauarium in Sunnyvale CA, he carries Catalina salt water. He can tell you where his water is from and probably give you his number to verify water source.

I called them about a month ago, and they told me that they will sell the NSW water, but you will need to call them ahead of time so they can prepare the pump for you

Wow, that really surprises me. Who exactly did you talk to? I guess things have changed a lot since I've been there. :)

Yes, I'd like to know who to talk to as well.

When I spoke with Catalina Water the woman said there were "NO" Northern California dealers at all. She said it wasn't cost effective to truck the water this far north as we have other sources here. She did say they trucked as far away as Arizona I believe but she explained people there had such a distance from the ocean that they would pay the premium.

I am assuming another company is just selling NSW under the name Catalina but isn't actually THE Catalina Water Co. They probably refer to Catalina as a style or type of water and not a brand.

i just talked to the owner of Aquatic Central to confirm and he called his distributor (marine rocks) right there. the distributor assured him that they ARE the only one in NorCal. they did confirm that SOME petco's also carry it but that they carry only small amounts. he then left a message with catalina so hopefully he'll keep us posted as to what the verdict from the actual SOURCE is. he also said that the owner of seapure (half moon bay water) originally helped or did set up catalina, and that their processing methods were quite similar. ???????????

They are actually giving it away for free, just tell them that you are a member of the Northcoast reefers or the Bay area reefers and they will give you the water for 5 cents a gallon

Northbay-reefer,

Do you know the number I should call to get directions to the correct part of the facility?

Great handle BTW.

just received a message from the guy at aquatic central . he said he spoke to catalina this morning and that the ONLY 2 distributors in nor cal are marine rocks and the fish doctor (who is most likely not distributing it yet). according to marine rocks, aquatic central is the only store in sf selling this water. it is likely that they distribute the water to other stores though. i'll try to get that info..........

Try this number (707) 875-2211

Ah, okay, I think we misunderstood each other. You're talking about the BML. I was talking about the UCD campus.
