Any advice on how to snag him. I got a quarantine setup but can't get hold of him. I don't know how he got ick, we have had him 5 months no problems, the only thing we have added was coral, shrimp, and snails. Now he got ick but I can't get him. The other fish are all fine at the moment.
If I do catch him should I catch everything as well and put them in the quarantine? That was my thought

Anything wet that you put into your tank can carry ich. You have to quarantine everything for atleast a month 6 weeks is better. You should catch all your fish leave them in QT for 6-8 weeks treating them. Leaving your Display tank without fish will get rid of the ich in your main system. Ich can catch a ride on inverts, but they can't survive on them. It will be quite the wet rodeo catching all of them but persistance wins in the end. If you haven't filled your QT up with water yet, use your display water to fill it up, that way you don't have to re-acclimate the fish. If it is new water, you will have to drip them again. There are great ways to treat the fish in QT. You can find great info on the top threads of this forum.

I agree with Paulamrein. You will ultimately need to remove all fish and treat them leaving the main display fallow (fish free) for at least 6 weeks but 8 is better.

I have used a trap to catch my fish for years with great results. I feed them in it soley for as long as it takes for all fish to become comfortable with entering it... usually no longer than a few days. With the exception of clownfish that stay close to their host anemone, this trap will catch any fish that likes to eat :)

Here it is in action:

Here is a diagram of it. I have not seen this type for sale in a long time but you could easily build one
