'Catching' wild fish and inverts?

I like to vacation down in South Eastern Asia and travel to the beach a lot. After I get done enjoying a sea side feast with the guys. I head down to low tide and find hundreds by hundreds of hermit crabs, starfishs and other inverts. Also, the low tide also creates small puddles which I always find juvenile fish with brilliant colors.

Anyways, is it safe to bring these guys home? Also what about rock?

it takes quite a bit of logistics to transport fish/wildlife. most is collected and held locally....indo, south pacific etc. bagged for transport, then to hono, held at wholesalers, rebagged, sent to LA, held at distributors, rebagged, sent to LFS.

its not an easy journey and to be honest if you found it in a tidepool, its probably not worth much, or at least worth the efforts.

we havent even started to talk about local requirements, permitting, certificates of origin, CITES and licensing. you might get all the way to your destination stateside, to only have it confiscated or you could be thrown in jail boarding the plane overseas if you dont have all your paperwork in order.

Figuring it'd be nice to bring something home out of a thousand dollar flight.

Getting permits to import exotic animals will be your biggest hurdle. If you can The best thing to do would be ship them home to someone in the same type of packaging reputable, online dealers do.

There's this beach down in Vietnam, I believe it's called 'Nha Trang'. One of my friend had connection (lord knows how) and we got a lift with one of the Yacht party boat. We anchored I'd say a good mile or 2 from the shore and we went 'deep' sea diving? Not sure how deep it was, but man. The water was beautiful and so the was sea life! We didn't have any proper gear, just our swim trunks and some snorkels lol. We've heard it has the most diverse coral reef around Vietnam.
