Cause of chalky water

My tank is set up since nov last year and i have not had clear water since. what can be the problem?

Hard to say. How cloudy is it? Picture?

You could try taking a cup of water out of the tank, and seeing how long it takes to clear, and whether there's a precipitate that settles.

How about the basic water parameters? What's being dosed into the tank?

Maybe try running a power filter like an Aquaclear or Penguin for a few days and see if that clears it up.

Could just be loose detritus floating around in the water column.

Or if you're adding too many supplements, that could be the cause.
