Just caught up on your thread Brian. Things look great. Can't wait to see everything. Have you moved the 240 into position yet?

It's been a long hard road. But things are coming together. I haven't moved the 240 into place yet. Just got the basement part completed and still have one more thing to get before I can move every thing from the 125 into the basement. Then bring the 240 in and set it up. I will leave every thing in the basement while the 240 & the 2-29's cycle. Then bring every thing up from the basement.

You have made a lot of progress Brian, everything is looking great

Thank you.
Just added the last of the salt this morning, will be bringing the Sweet GEO Calcium Reactor on line later. ;)
BTW George thanks again for the black panel for the front of the cryptic fuge, fits perfectly.
I guess it's about time to change the "current tanks" info to include the 400+ gallons and equipment in the basement.

good deal Brian! It's all downhill from here. Don't worry bout the tank move. That's the easy part.

Just wanted to let every one know I brought the GEO Calcium Reactor on line and it was very easy to tune in. Works like a champ.
One GEO item down 3 to go. ;)

Where did you buy the GEO Calcium Reactor? I'm still shopping for mine. Any pics of it setup?

I got the reactor it self from GEO directly, the CO2 Bottle, Regulator-Reef Fanatics, Media and Maxi Jet pump I got fromPhishy Business. I work part time for them. Actually started with them in the construction part of it and was lucky enough to be asked if I would stay on board when they opened.

Here are the most recent pictures of the basement set up:

That's about it for now. Hope to have the skimmer in the next few week's.
And I don't mind saying it will be a thing of beauty. If I have it right it will be 12"x48" that is the main chamber, it will have 4 1200 Sedra pumps for re-circulation in the chamber.

You mean 4x Sedra 12,000 ;)

Yep, thanks for the correction. Needed to add one more zero there.

Sorry for the delay on up-dates. But there really isn't a whole lot happening.
The only new thing that has been added is my new GEO Kalkwasser reactor. I have it hooked up to the RO/DI unit.

The next thing will be the skimmer, Geo and I talked about it and we have changed the recirrculating pump part. I will now be using a single Dart pump with modified impeller to make it needle wheel. I will have to have an external air pump on it.
I would like to get away from having to use a air pump but not sure if going with more rpm's on a bigger pump would help in doing this. We were looking at bigger pumps, but the cost of them is pretty high to gamble with. The price on the bigger pump is about the same as a Dart with Air pump together and we know that combo works. Does any body out there have a big skimmer like we are talking about hooked up to a external pump with no air pump? If so what pump & rpm?

Both are GEO 618's. I still need to get my Phosban Reactor(GEO) and we are in the process of putting the Skimmer together(getting all the materials to build).
I threw some dead SPS's skeleton's into the Cryptic fuge last night. So now I have some thing to look at.

Picked this up today at Tractor Supply, planning on getting 3 more. For the price you can't beat it IMO. $198.50 and it's 210 gallon.

I also added some SPS skeletons to the Cryptic fuge to get things started. When I add the live rock I will seccure those to the rock. But I figure I got some cool shapes for the sponges to grow on.

Well I came down stairs Saturday, and found my CLS pump on my 125 gallon reef leaking at the back seal on the pump. Dumped about 15-20 gallons on the LR floor. So I took it as a sign it was time to tare it down and move every thing to the basement. So I will now be looking at getting the 240 from the garage into the LR very soon. Every thing seems to be doing very well in the basement at this point.
I can tell you this much, it is very weird not having my lights and the sound of running water going in the LR when I get up in the morning and come home from work at night. Plus the MH lights had pretty much become the lighting for the LR so now it's kind of dark around here now to.

LOL, that is how I should justify to my wife on upgrading from PCs to MHs.

I dont know if this question has come up already.... How many gallons is that total? You have a 240 gallon tank and ??? gallon filtration. Correct?
