you should hang a track from the ceiling and attach a rope with a harness that you could hang from and roll along the length of the tank suspended above it. kinda like the father did in in the movie "honey i shrunk the kids". that way you could avoid accidentally stepping on any urchins
Some day today. We were gluing some pvc pipes from the overflow when an earthquake struck. There was an 6.1 magnitude earthquake not so far from the capital. I stood in front of the tank when it rode over and when things started shacking I was thinking to my self "please don't break, please don't break"
Hi Arnar,
As soon as I heard about the Earthquake I wondered how you had been affected. Hopefully all is well with you and your project as well as all your fellow Icelanders.
The quake splashed some water out of my tank and of course into an outlet shorting out electricity. Fortunately the epicenter was around 40km from my home so all is well.
I heard of a big freshwater tank that burst and loads of fish died.
YEAH. This is always on my mind out here on teh Left Coast too. I have been through a lot of quakes so we take our tank design (especially for larger ones) very seriously.
Just having some fun with the wavemaker comment, but its great to hear nothing serious happened, especially with a tank of that size. I know how I get concerned with 75 gallon when there is any power outages, or even the little quake we had earlier this year. Can't wait to see this thing with some life in it.
