you can't hurry a project like this...that's the great part about watching this build. Careful thought in design, materials, and functionality.
yeh but he is still doing the air con!

thanks for the updates Arnar, how many overflow boxes will be used? any thought on flow yet?

I'll be using two boxes. One in each corner.

I have given the flow some thought and I will be doing some tests with fresh water in the tank before I add livestock. I have a 25.000 L pump for closed loop as well as the return + 6 big Tunzes to start with.

Next... overflow boxes to be installed next week I hope as well as moving the sump into its place and finishing the return plumbing.

I don't want to see a bunch of lights and equipment plus I want the AC to blow across the hood to keep the heat and humidity out of the room and blow it straight out. It's a much more controllable area that way.

I also want to focus all the attention on the glass section where all the pretty stuff is ;)

Just makes perfect sense to me and nothing else ever crossed my mind.

hmmm...I may be confused. Is the tank itself in the viewing room? I thought it was in-wall. What you say is understandable in either case, but I found that trying to build a canopy for my tank just caused a lot of headaches for not much return. BUT, mine is an in-wall install.

From what I've seen (and understand), it looks like it's in-wall from one room and the room behind it functions as a viewing room as well.

could you give us some more info on all the lighting you plan on using? that AC work is awesome

I'm going to start with 8x400W Mh 10K with Lumenarcs reflectors and 10x 80W T5 on a dimmer, mixed blue and white. I will probably also add some IR lamps for the webcam at night :)
