Direct translation would be 'Clam sand'. It's a light brown sand with small fragments of crushed clam shells.

It looks much darker than it actually is in those pictures. It's a little wet and there are no lights so it doesn't look right.

Here it is a bit dryer

It is not illigal to import but 500KG of wet liverock costs a fortune to transfer.

I really liked how I could cherry pick the rocks and the size of them. I also wanted to arrange them dry since I am not used to aquascaping underwater ;)

This way I can arrange this in good time without having to worry. I will fill the tank with freshwater and let it run through the tank and into the drain for couple of days while stirring the sand a little and then add salt. When the salt is in I will seed it with mature live rock and livesand.

Today I actually managed to get plenty of time to completely arrange the rocks. I will post some pictures in couple of hours.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah.. Just send us a PM ;)

soooo, when are you going to upgrade?

LOL.

The tank looks spectacular ! The aquascaping is great, and looks quite similar to what I have planned for my *cough* small 300 gallon tank.

I can't wait for you to get some salt in there!

What do you plan to do with the back of the tank? It is a front view only tank isn't it?

The rock work looks really sweet. Your tank is coming along nicely. Keep up the great work and up-dates.

How do folks handle the humidity in the house that results from giant tanks? I'm always nervous about my 400 gallons and have heard horror stories. This may not be a problem in more temperate climates, but up north here where humidity can condense in wall spaces etc. I wonder how it can effectively be dealt with.
