Any idea what % humidity is in that room? Here in Ohio where exterior temps can be in the single digits, I wonder how to keep condensation off the walls, in the wallspace etc. I think that that is not a problem for you in WA. How cold does it get where you are?

not cold but the ambient humiditry is high. everything in my tank rooms sweats on occassion and I just wanted to make sure to keep that out of the rest of the house.

Arnar,

I'm going to be a black cloud. I apologize in advance.

First, check to see if that sand is usable for reef situations. I know that clam shells that are available in the states are no good for using in artificial live rock. They produce a lot of phosphates to the point it wrecks the tank. Here is a recent thread where a club put together a zoo tank and made rock with clam shells. They didn't know the cause of the algae problems and fortunately we crossed paths. they since has eliminated all that rock and the algae problems are gone.

Second, I think you can do much better with the rock stack. I'm not trying to be mean -everything else is amazing, far better than I could ever do. I just think you could get more creative and open the stacks up more and make it less symmetrical. spend some extra time will be a better finish product. You've come this far, now is the time to get it perfect.

Okay, let the flames begin.

What do you plan to do with the back of the tank? It is a front view only tank isn't it?

It's viewable from all sides. The image here below has a curtain on the right that is supposed to be drawn but we need a part for the motor.

This sand that I am using has been used in numerous tanks here and that includes my tank at home. The percentage of clam shell in the sand is not high and I don't think it will be a problem.

The sand is also used in Dna's TOTM

The rock stack was v.1 and I am going to tweak it here and there some more. I've raised the curtain on the other side so now I can see through the tank and the view from the other side and the depth is so much more. The first pictures I took were not very good as well. I'm going to work on installing the T5 next to get some lights in and then do another batch of pictures and maybe a video flyby.

Thanks for your input Kent. I appreciate it ;)

I was working on lights last night and took a few pics. I hope to finish these today and hang them up.

5 sets of three. Blue bulbs on the ends and white in the middle. The white ones will be on a computer controlled dimmer for a hopefully nice "sunrise" effect.

15 bulbs, over 130 meters of wire and 80 connections

i need a place to swim :-D

Finished wiring the T5's to the brackets today and now we need to hang them up and connect them there.

The curtain should also be fixed today since we had a repair guy come in.

Water tomorrow ? maybe :)

i managed to get the lights all hung up and connected before i left the office tonight.

i tested the big lights and there working fine, we just need to put the lamps in to the T5 and test those. i will connect them to the mains in the morning and have it tested by 9.30am at the latest (unless something needs attention at work).

the contractor sorting out the fire curtain managed to get it working, he just needs to finish it off in the morning.

i have put the rocks back to how i found them. Arnar might want to move them alittle more, but i think were good to go. unless he whines about the rocks, were good to go with starting to put water in, then i will just wait at the office until it's full.

there is 1 amusing fact about this tank that Arnar seems to forget......it's directly above our server room :D

Great thread, great tank, great design, I wish I could get involved in a project like that.

Congratulations on everything so far!

Cheers!
