CD's upgrade!!!

The tank is looking good! I would put the mushrooms somewhere a little more isolated unless you want them to overgrow those SPS frags.

Hello. If you are referring to the rock full of green mushrooms in the back by the overflow, I think they are isolated pretty good. There is about a 6"-8" gap between those two rocks.

I don't want them to overtake my sps but I was hoping they would grow up the back wall & my frags would fill in the gap rather. What do y'all think??? Thanks.

Tank looks great!

On the mushrooms, if they start to spread across that tonga branch you will have to address. Some Kalk slurry will address individual polyps quite well.

Nice collection of fish - some of my favorites in there. How well do the PBT and the Achilles get along? Of the tangs who is the boss?

The PB & Achilles get along pretty good but there is a good size difference between them at the moment. The orange shoulder is actually the boss (strange) but him, the coral beauty & clown fish was all that was left from my old system after failure so he kinda got used to being the boss.

After a month or so of everything being in the tank together, I noticed that my sohal tang is hiding in a hole in the rock. Upon further inspection after replacing the nori, I witnessed my coral beauty harassing him pretty bad & he went to hide. Is this normal? Anything I can do to help? They did pretty good at the beginning but now I guess not do much.

You could try watching the CB to see where he likes to hang out and then move the rockwork around a bit. That will disrupt everyone's territory and might make it easier for the sohal to find its own ground.

Well I don't know what happened overnight with the sohal. I had to remove him from the DT. When I caught him he was swimming lethargic like--downward spirals & back flips & upside down. I think the CB was picking on him cause he was easy target. Yesterday he was swimming around & eating like he had since I got him a month ago. Any ideas?? I have him in hospital tank now but don't really know what to medicate with at this point. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello all. Well I finally had time to move my furniture around the house to expose my tank. Now I have a nice sitting room!!!

Also got some supplemental lights to go along with my halides--went with 4, AI hydra 52 hd's. [emoji12][emoji106]

I generally don't care for bowfront on smaller tanks,
but it is very dramatic and appealing on this larger tank.
Looks great for viewing.

CD's upgrade!!!

Well I've been pretty busy with life, work & such & haven't been able to update this. It's been about a year now-I know, pretty sad. Anyway, it's been going pretty good with the tank overall. Upgraded my calcium reactor, just ordered a new skimmer & adding some more to my CUC. Have some decent grown on some of my frags & others have kinda stalled out but overall I guess I can't complain. Here's a few crappy pictures from a few months ago.

You guessed it...Left side

It could always be better but it's doing ok. [emoji106][emoji4]

Happy reefing everyone.

Nice tank. How do you like the gyre on the right side in the vertical position? I have a pair in my 210 but placed horizontal and I've not found a decent flow pattern yet. Your tank looks nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I have the gyre on the right vertical because of my rock tower that's right in front of it. I have the top flow pattern coming in front towards the glass with the bottom going behind the tower. My reasoning behind this setup was I wanted to get some movement behind my big rock there kinda in the right corner, the big one. It seems to be working out for me this way. My only complaint is that the gyre on the right moves about half as much water as the one on the left. I'm not sure why, they are set up the same but it seems like one motor is stronger than the other.

CD's upgrade!!!

So I got my new skimmer last weekend. Lifereef VS3-72. Had it all plumbed and running Saturday afternoon. It's been 4 days and I've already emptied the cup twice, working on a third.

I'm not sure if this thing is a beast or if my old skimmer was just missing that much.
