CD's upgrade!!!

Well got my leaks fixed in filters. Tanks been holding water since Thursday & pump has been running all day today & everything seems to be ok. [emoji106]
Got my rocks acid bathed yesterday morning & soaked up the sun for the last 2 days. This afternoon I glued my 2 towers together with Jurassic gel from BRS. Letting them sit to dry.

Here is a rough list of what I have for this tank:
--dolphin amp 4750 for return
--SRO 5000 sss int protein skimmer with auto neck cleaner & overflow chamber with safety shut off switch.
--4, 300 watt heaters
--2, mp40qd (might get a third)
--2, maxspect gyre xf150
--icecap battery backup
--gonna use my 250 watt MH fixture for now but probably going to get 2 400, supplemented by t5.
--have a 150 gallon tank laying around that I'm going to plumb into a refugium.
--korallin calcium reactor (upgrade when I need too)
--BRS dual stage reactor for gfo/carbon
--Spectrapure ro/di unit with dual tds meter

I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff!! [emoji4][emoji106]

Looking good! that's a great equipment list, I doubt you'll feel the need for the other MP40 until things really grow in but it depends on where you position everything.

One thing, consider your usage scenario of the ball valves on your main return pump in the photos: it may make more sense to put the unions between the pump and the valve so you can easily remove + clean the pump with the valves closed leaving all the water in the sump/DT.

Thanks for the reply. I'm planning on the 2gyre's on the ends with the mp40's on the back wall. Just what I'm thinking for now but will depend on water movement when it's up & running. [emoji106][emoji4]

Well started mixing my saltwater tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to get it set up & cycling by this weekend.

Also good catch on the valve/union detail. That was how the pump was plumbed in before. I believe there are unions right at the pump inlet/outlet. When I drain everything I will definitely check into that. Good catch & thanks for the heads up. Could save me some headaches in the long run. [emoji106]

Well I had to leave work to pick up sick kid from school so I took advantage of my day. [emoji106].
280lbs of tropic eden sand was a little more than I expected but looks pretty good. I went with a combination of reef flakes & mini flakes. Hopefully it doesn't move like the sand I currently have.

Started to do some rock work. Took some advice from earlier in my thread & removed some pieces but tried to stay with the original design I posted. I think it came out pretty good. Don't mind crappy pics.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions. I know the rock on top of the big one towards the right is close to the top (about 8" from water surface) but I wanted to have one high point for visual appearance.

Only thing moving water tonight is my return pump. Tomorrow after work I'm gonna try to get mp40's & gyre's hooked up and running along with my protein skimmer. But atleast water is moving!! [emoji16]
