always knew they were aggressive! never knew they would be sooo aggressive though!

good thing i caught it and it's going into someone else's tank soon. it's chasing my marjorie wrasse and i won't stand for that.

hope the new owner takes care of him. :)

any other pictures of cebu pylei wrasses? very beautiful and wish i could keep him. even in a 183gal he is still so fierce.

I'm about to give mine the boot as well. Just too mean when it comes to interacting with all other fish IME

yes. cebu pyleis are just too aggressive.

so are roseafascia actually... or is it just mine... but definitely not as fierce as the pylei

Hard to figure these thing out, mine behaves perfectly. He just likes to chill out in the upper water column and there's no drama at all with the other wrasse. Just lucky I guess.

considers yourselves lucky. I ahd a male and female, and the male was hell on wheels. When I removced him, the female took his place quickly. Not just to wrasses either. If it was smaller then them, they were getting beaten.

My male was a nervous wreck. Eventually got chased out of the tank by my wimpy lubbocks.

Can I put this with my 6line wasse? I have a pylei in with other wrasses and he is starting to pick on them. I was thinking on moving him to my frag tank where I have a 6line now.

Some are. C. scottorum is the worst in my opinion. But why do you get positive vibes from this?

The play on words. "Fairy" = dainty little feminine sprite. Them being brutes makes me smile. Like I said, off topic.

Yeah, Scotts are known bruisers. I just commented on a Japanese aquarists friend on facebook who has a scotts, rhomboid, and lubbock that are ultra passive. I was shocked.

my rhomboid was quite aggressive. top dog in my tank and it's nighly flasing made my other wrasses hide.

but in came a pylei, both fought, both died.

moral of story, i hate pyleis. they're just too fierce and after 3 specimens, i've never gotten a fairy pylei. only brutes.

i have had one that was timid for a week or so and when he got settled in WOW did he do some damage in one day ! four of my wrasses had badly tattered finnage and he was pinning my 6"yellow tail coris in the corner .what a disaster that night when i had to completely tear my tank apart to get him out .i put him in my sump and never thought of him get into my sequence pump and he was never seen again ,oopsy,as he was coral food sometime that night .80 bucks worth of food plus shipping taught me a good lesson with that guy .
we live and learn every day and i thought because he was considered aggressive he would be okay in my "aggressive wrasse tank ,guess i miss judged that one .
i will never get another but they are so beautiful they are tempting .

Both of these are highly aggressive with the female being MORE so. But the top of the fairy wrasse aggression list is the C. scottorum. Whooooeeee.
