Chaetodon + Carpet Anemone

Any luck or updates?

I may try a carpet in my 75. Concerned about a snowflake eel getting eaten though...

If you are thinking about an S. Haddoni, I have a feeling that the snowflake will last a couple of months before it stumbles in/onto the Haddoni.

Todd that's what I was afraid of.

Anyways a snowflake was already ok'd by the group of people in the FO and Aggressive section. Echidna nebulosa stay quite small compared to other morays and it will have a sump the same size as the DT.

Here is a quote from my other saltwater bible:

Snowflake eel and tank size 08/26/05
Hello again,
<<hello laura="" -="" ted="" here="">>
Thank you for answering my question. I also recently bought a book that has
given me a new idea. I think I will buy a 75 gallon tank for a snowflake moray.
Will a 75 gallon tank be able to support its adult size?
<<Yes. Please read up
on Snowflake eels starting with this link: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/snowflakemoray.htm.>>
I have been thinking of
tankmates for the eel. I have been thinking about a Lemonpeel Angel but have
run out of ideas. Any suggestions?<<there are="" many="" fish="" suitable="" for="" a="" 75="">
gallon tank. Part of the enjoyment found in this hobby comes from researching
the specimens for your system. Please research first before buying any
specimen. Of the dwarf Angels, the Coral Beauty and the Flame Angel are hardier
than the Lemonpeel. I refer you to this link http://www.wetwebmedia.com/marine/fishes/angels/centropyge for more
information. The Lemonpeel should get along with the eel as Snowflake eels
rarely eat fish however there is no guarantee.>> I am also thinking about a
cleaner shrimp.<<the shrimp="" is="" not="" recommended.="" snowflake="" eels="" eat="" crustaceans="">
and will eat the shrimp.>> Again, any answer is appreciated.
Thank you again,
Laura Nikiel

Yeah, it has been about 15 years since I last kept a snowflake, but if my memory serves about how they hang out, see it getting munched on.

Yeah, well most people don't keep a sump that large. Just my opinion of that eel and what I'd do. They don't swim like fish. Like Todd said, carpet and eel is a no go.

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning toward H. Crispa aka Sebae anemone instead...still reading though :)

for 2 months so far no issues. burgess butterfly doesnt seem to have any interest in the gigantea carpet.

i've never seen him pick at it. the clowns hosted by it guide him away (very peacefully i might add) if he hovers too long near it which i only see infrequently while he's picking at the rock it's attached to. so i would say this combo can work well.

to my surprise while on vacation i saw an aquarium with a huge purple gigantea that was getting picked on by a large angel (will have to look back through pics to identify). first time i'd ever seen something like it but he literally would fearlessly go up to the anemone and bite off a chunk of tentacles and move on, coming back if he felt like it a few minutes later. dont know what allows that angelfish to do that.

I have a green carpet with 2 picasso clowns in my 210 g tank . I have several angels, including Asfur , Koran , emperor , majestic etc... and none touch or even tried to touch my nem. Luckly none got stung or were eaten also... and they are living together for over 2 years...
