Hi guys,
I was willing to raise a couple of Chaetodon Semilarvatus only fish in my tank. Someone can give me some information and tell me if it's feasible?
like other large fish I lituratus 1 nose, 1 vlamingi, 1 and 1 small imperator anularis.

Hi my friend !!
I currently have an aquarium 250 x 60 x 60, managed methodically DSB.
In my tank I have:
1 desjardini
1 flavescens
1 xanthurum
1 Adult Emperor
1 anularis baby
1 vlamingi baby

The tank is just for fish ... I have several corals, and all sarcopyton and Sinularia.
I had intended to complete the tank with 1 lituratus nose and a pair of chaetodon semilarvatus.

So it's a standard 240g 8' tank (for the non metric crowd :) ).

I agree, get rid of the vlamingi while you can still find a home for him, being small still.

Yes, you can keep a semilarvatus in there. I've had horrible luck with pairs of any Chaetodon species, so I'd personally recommend 1.

You've got some aggressive fish in there (emp, tangs)... so introduction may be tricky.

Introduction will be tricky and semilarvatus are easily intimidated into not eating.

Well, to be fair, never say never, in this hobby ;)

Semi's are not pushovers... a properly QT'ed and acclimated semi can hold his own.

Absolutely agree, my semi will go head to head with my Achilles, as will my dusky. When those butterflies turn on their side and erect their dorsal spines there isn't. much that wants to mess with them.

Still you'll need to be cautious and absolutely properly quarantine and get it eating well.

What about semi diet in a full blown reef?
Scott Michael's Angelfish and Butterflyfish book gives no recommendations...
Long story short ...you guys know my reef...I'd like to introduce a semi.
