Will tangs it it.. I have some big tangs in my 300 and would like a source of food for them.. I have just got my fuge set up and want to get my macro ordered.

What should I put in there. Main goal is food for tangs and a haven for pods.

Hmm, you know, I've got a huge load of chaet and it never occured to me to try feeding it to tangs. I'll give it the taste test and let you know how it fares ;)

Yes, they'll eat it, but. . .

Yes, they'll eat it, but. . .

I fed it once and regretted it. The Naso ate it eagerly, but then swam around for two days with these disgusting 8 inch streamers of clear, semi-digested chaeto hanging out his backside. When I first glanced in the next morning I freaked out thinking he had some hideous parasite.

The Purple either didn't eat it, or was able to digest it more apropriately. In any case, chaeto has never gone back in the display tank again; it all goes straight to the LFS these days.

Cheers,

Paul

LOL!!!! i had the same thing happen..the fish eat and
graze on the algea like crazy...i would recomend
feeding smaller broken pieces..or you will have
fish w/ super poop!!!

my tangs will eat it but slowly. They love grape calurpa and will absolutely go wild over any of the reds, especially gracilaria!
