Chalk Bass

I've looked for information on a Chalk Bass but there doesn't seem to be much. They seem interesting and from what little info I could find they seem to be relatively low maintenance. The one I have seen eats mysis voraciously and I have a very peaceful tank. Any personal experiences?

Talk to Lost Marbles...he has had a couple of them for a couple years now.

I had a couple a few years ago they were hardy eaters and I would consider them very easy care wise. They are jumps as mine ended up on the center glass support baking under the 400w halide so I would some how have that situation protected.

They are easy to care for fish. Peaceful with anything they cant fit in their mouth or attempts to sleep in their chosen spot.

I dig em....

I had one in my nano for a while when I had it set up. It ate flake like it was starving to death all the time. I could have put anything in there and he would have eaten it. Then I sold the nano and put him in my 55 and my bicolor psuedo picked on him till he disappeared one day. I am not sure if he jumped or was killed and eaten later by crabs but it is a great fish. I want another now that the psuedo has jumped.

Mine has been around for some time and I have no problems with him. I had two for a long time then someone in my tank thought the would see what chalk would taste like. Now I have to use nontoxic paste when I'm around them.
